In my previous post about recycling ICs from old circuit boards, I covered the desoldering gun I used to pull components from a circuit board. Now I will show how I go about organizing these components. I got a whole bunch of these organizers from Newark, 24 compartment organizers for just over $1 a piece. I then used my IC Inventory program to search all of the part numbers and make an Excel file with all of the components. From there, it was simply grouping items into categories and making some labels.

It is pretty tedious, but I have a lot of super neat components. Op amps, logic gates, memory, timers, various motor controllers and power supply controllers, etc. Definitely worth the time.
